Make a Special Day of Giving Gift Through Payroll Deduction

Belltower

Whether it’s to honor an experience, to address an urgent need or to be a part of an extraordinary day, there’s a story behind every gift made on NC State Day of Giving, which takes place March 23.

NC State faculty and staff have a special opportunity to share their stories and make a difference during a special lead-up period before Day of Giving. From now through March 22, you can make a gift through payroll deduction that will help kick off the day with momentum and inspire other donors to get involved.

Open-ended pledges will count for a total of 12 months of payments, so a new $10 monthly commitment would count as $120 for Day of Giving. If you’re increasing a current payroll deduction, the total increase over 12 months would count as your pledge for Day of Giving. For example, if you’re currently contributing $10/month to a fund and you increase your monthly contribution to $15, that would count as a $60 pledge for this year’s Day of Giving (12 months x $5/month = $60).

To make your payroll deduction pledge, visit NC State’s payroll deduction portal. Within the portal, select the fund or funds you want to give to, and the system will take care of the rest. For more information or to learn more about the areas you can give to, visit the Day of Giving website

This is the university’s fourth year running the 24-hour event, and every year we’re honored by the participation of faculty and staff. In addition to payroll deduction, there are other ways faculty and staff can get involved:

  • Share on social media: Follow @NCState accounts to share information with your networks and encourage your Pack to get involved.
  • Make a gift: Faculty and staff can make an outright gift on the day. There will also be a faculty and staff giving challenge at 2 p.m. on March 23, where the area that receives the most gifts from this group will receive an additional $1,000.
  • Participate in challenges: Social media challenges throughout the day provide opportunities to make a difference just by posting. There are already two pre-day challenges open now.
