4 Ways the Pack Can Give Back

Food Pantry

When you make your gift list this holiday season, consider putting this on your list: the gift of generosity. Here are four ways to give back:

Donate to Feed the Pack

Feed the Pack is a food pantry at NC State that is open to students and employees. You can make a monetary donation to the pantry or drop off food items. The pantry is located in Quad Commons, 2221 Dunn Ave., and open Monday through Friday from noon to 6 p.m.

Make a Charitable Donation Through Payroll Deduction

The North Carolina State Employees Combined Campaign is a workplace giving program that allows employees to make donations to charities through payroll deductions. For more information about the program, visit ncsecc.org or check your inbox for an email from the State
Employees Combined Campaign.

Give Clothes to the Clothing Closet

NC State’s Career Development Center operates the Wolfpack Styled Professional Clothing Closet. The center collects professional clothing, including suits, knee-length or longer dresses and long-sleeved dress shirts, that students can wear to work, conferences, job fairs and interviews. Contact the clothing closet at 515-2396 to set up a time to drop off donations.

Donate Leave Time to an Employee

The voluntary shared leave program allows employees to donate leave time to fellow employees who need to miss work for prolonged periods due to a personal or family members’ illness. The minimum amount of leave an employee can donate is four hours. For more information on how to participate in the shared leave program, contact your department’s leave coordinator.
