HRNow

Your go-to source to get accurate HR-related information quickly.

University Human Resources began leading an initiative in 2022 to implement an enhanced and updated customer service experience for NC State. The result of that effort is a new customer service model that exemplifies two of HR’s core values: customer-centric and valued HR services. The centerpiece of this customer service strategy is HRNow, an online platform that is the go-to place to request HR services and get answers to HR-related questions. Keep reading to learn more about HRNow and our customer service evolution.

Our Enhanced Customer Service Model

More than 10,000 employees rely on our services and depend on us to provide workplace solutions, answer questions about their benefits and much more. To improve the quality of service we provide to each of you, we’ve developed a customer service model that leverages technology to provide information more efficiently and expeditiously. Our new customer service model is illustrated below:

HRNow

HRNow is the best source to get accurate HR-related information quickly. The platform houses a robust library of information about HR resources, services, procedures and programs. Below are HRNow’s main features:

  • ServiceNow HR Delivery. This cutting-edge platform powers HRNow, providing a mix of tools to search for information, submit questions and request HR services.
  • Search. The front page of HRNow features a search bar, so you can quickly search for the information you’re trying to find.
  • Knowledge base. This library includes policies, FAQs, how-to guides and other information about HR programs and services.
  • Forms to submit questions and request assistance. You can submit questions and service requests to HR via electronic forms.
  • Virtual agent: HRNow has a virtual agent that can help you find answers to questions.

HR Service Center

The HR Service Center serves as the first point of contact for employees who need help with HR-related matters and services. This special team of HR employees is responsible for connecting employees with HR resources and services and answering employee questions.

HR Subject Matter Experts

Subject matter experts are specialists, consultants, managers and directors who are part of the HR team. When the Service Center can’t answer your questions, they will consult the subject matter experts to find the answers you need.

    FAQs

Why is HR transitioning to a new service model?

Our current customer service model is outdated. It’s no longer an effective way to provide service to our university community. We need to take advantage of emerging technological tools to meet your needs.

Go to HRNow and log in with your Unity ID and password. You also can access HRNow through links on the UHR website and from Employee Self Service in MyPack Portal.

Those without a Unity ID and password can’t access HRNow. If you’re a new employee and haven’t received your Unity ID and password yet, you should contact your department, college or unit HR representative, and that person will assist you with your HR-related needs. New hires will continue to receive direct communication from the Onboarding Center about the onboarding process at NC State.

Yes, the HR Service Center can answer your questions in person or by phone from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday except for weekends and holidays. You can call the center at 919-515-2135 or stop by the center on the second floor of Administrative Services Building II, 2711 Sullivan Drive.

HR plans to transition most of the policies, procedures, FAQs, how-to guides and other information about its programs and services from its website to HRNow. When that transition happens, the only place that information will be is HRNow. We will let you know when that transition is complete.

No, the only way to find information exclusively on HRNow will be to log into that platform and use its robust search features.

All information on HRNow will be accurate and up to date when it’s uploaded to the portal. After that, our experts will receive automated notifications to periodically review information on HRNowto ensure that it remains updated and accurate. Every page presenting a policy, a procedure or any other information will show when it was last updated by an expert.

You can also subscribe to updates and receive notifications when experts make updates.
