HR Wellness Announces Updated Sessions for Free Wellness Programs
HR Wellness will continue to offer two wellness programs for employees in 2025: Employee Wellness Wednesdays is a series of in-person fitness classes, and Flourish Fridays is a series of wellness activities employees can participate in virtually.
Employee Wellness Wednesdays
Employee Wellness Wednesdays is a collaboration between HR Wellness and the Wellness and Recreation Center. Employees can take a variety of fitness classes, including yoga, cardio dance and strength training. The classes will be available at the center. Class times will vary.
All of the classes that will be available in 2025 are on the Wellness and Recreation Center website. To participate in a class, you must register on the site, and if you are not a Wellness and Recreation member, bring your employee ID to the Wellness and Recreation Center on the day you plan to attend a class.
Registration for each class will open four weeks before the class date. Classes will be available once a month except for February when there will be two classes. One of the two February classes will be on Tuesday, Feb. 11, an NC State-designated wellness day.
Flourish Fridays
Flourish Fridays will take place once a month on Fridays. To participate in the instructor-led virtual activities, you must complete this registration form and waiver. Registrants will receive a link that will give them access to the sessions. The list of activities available through April 2025 is below.
Stretch Break
Friday, Jan. 24, 12:10-12:30 p.m.
Take a 20-minute break to stretch and recharge. You’ll need space to stand and stretch.
Mindfulness
Friday, Feb. 14, 12:10-12:30 p.m.
Focus on relaxation while you participate in a guided mindfulness exercise. Mindfulness breaks may include visualization, deep breathing and progressive muscle relaxation. You’ll need a space to sit comfortably.
Laughter and Fun
Friday, March 14, 12:00-12:30 p.m.
Take time to laugh and play fun games in a virtual setting. To participate, you will need to have your computer’s camera and microphone on.
Chair Pilates
Friday, April. 11, 11-11:20 a.m.
Take time to recharge wherever you are by participating in a chair Pilates session. You’ll need a stable chair to sit on and stand beside to participate.
