Thank You for Supporting Employee Appreciation Week
When we revamped our efforts to celebrate employees in 2023, switching from a single event to a weeklong celebration, we encouraged colleges and divisions to host activities for their staff and faculty members.
We were astounded by the efforts made in the first year to celebrate employees. We were amazed again this year because we think there were more college- and division-level celebrations during Our Extraordinary Pack Employee Appreciation Week than last year. Those celebrations are as important to the success of Employee Appreciation Week as the universitywide events. That’s because the college and division celebrations show employees that the leaders in their colleges and divisions value their contributions.
The Poole College of Management, the Biomanufacturing Training and Education Center, the College of Engineering, University Advancement, the College of Veterinary Medicine and many other university entities hosted activities during the week of May 5-11. Thank you to each of you for doing so. We know your employees appreciated your efforts, and we did, too.
Many volunteers helped us throughout Employee Appreciation Week. Their support was a big reason why you had the opportunity to enjoy so many virtual and in-person events. We gave away about 3,000 cups of Howling Cow ice cream. We handed out ice cream at three socials and delivered ice cream to several buildings for employees working evening and night shifts to enjoy. About 420 employees attended tours and webinars.
Lots of work teams enjoyed Employee Appreciation Week events together, and that’s exactly how we envisioned this new version of employee appreciation.
We can’t wait for next year. Go Pack!
