Make Sure Your Benefits-Related Deductions Are Correct
As a reminder, the State Health Plan requires advance payment of medical premiums, which means your first medical premium for 2024 will be deducted from your December paycheck.
Employees should review their December paychecks to ensure the medical premium deducted from their checks is accurate.
To see if your deduction is accurate, compare the deducted amount on your pay stub to the confirmation statement on the state benefits enrollment website. To view your confirmation statement:
- Go to Employee Self Service in MyPack Portal.
- Select Benefits Details and then click My State Employee Benefits. From there, you may need to log in. If not, you will automatically go to the state benefits website.
- Under the My Documents label on the left side of the page, select Confirmation Statement.
How To Check the Accuracy of Other Benefits-Related Deductions
Employees should review their January 2024 paycheck to check the accuracy of deductions for their NC Flex, UNC System life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment plans. To see if your deductions are accurate, compare the deducted amounts on your pay stub to the monthly costs on the UNC System Benefits portal. To navigate to the portal:
- Go to Employee Self Service in MyPack Portal.
- Select Benefits Details and then click My UNC Benefits. From there, you may need to log in. If not, you will automatically go to the UNC System Benefits portal.
- At the top of the portal, you will see a link that will take you to a page to review your annual enrollment selections and the deductions for those selections.
What if I Find a Discrepancy?
If you find a discrepancy between the premiums deducted from your check and the costs shown on the state benefits website or the UNC System Benefits portal, let University Human Resources know by going to HRNow and filling out the Benefits Insurance Inquiry form. Please note the deadline to submit appeals to correct errors related to annual enrollment elections is Jan. 31, 2024.
