I’m from Emerald Isle, North Carolina. The ocean has always been a solace to me, and I visit as often as I can.
In 2020 my family and I lived at Lake Johnson, and my 2-year-old son and I went to the lake every day. The COVID-19 pandemic had caused much of our society to shut down, so the opportunity to visit the lake was a silver lining for us.
One of my favorite things to do is kayaking with my husband and two boys. We all love the water, and I have a goal to go white-water rafting at class levels 3 and 4.
I’m an NC State graduate and have been working at NC State for six years. I can’t imagine working anywhere else, and I truly feel like I’m part of the Wolfpack family. My colleagues at the Analytical Instrumentation Facility are one of the reasons coming to work is so enjoyable for me. Go Pack!
I’ve been exploring Buddhism and have loved the journey so far. It has helped reduce my stress and also improve my mental health overall.
