My wife and I are NC State graduates from the 1980s. Our oldest daughter graduated from NC State in 2022, and our youngest daughter is a junior at NC State.
I have only worked for the two institutions that have most impacted my life: Newport News Public Schools in Virginia, my home school district, and NC State, where I earned my undergraduate degree.
I was on the first cover of the magazine for NC State’s Student Leadership program, in 1986 or 1987.
I grew up in Newport News, Virginia, and never moved my entire childhood. My mother still lives in the same house. My father died in 2009.
I have driven to and visited 27 states, including California all within the past seven years.
