I practiced emergency medicine for 13 years and was the director of public health preparedness for Maryland and North Carolina before coming to NC State Campus Health.
I teach courses in global health and coordinate NC State’s undergraduate minor in that field. I’m passionate about undergraduate global health education.
I’ve had the privilege to learn from many people who were experiencing the most tumultuous and difficult times of their lives, and I hope to never waste that currency of their trust in me to do the best I can.
A great colleague of mine led me to realize my lifelong motto: “If not me, then who?” I am an originator and love discovering new ideas.
I relax by doing all sorts of crafts: building dollhouses, needlepoint and most recently weaving. I craft like it’s my job. LOL!
