  • I’m a mother of five grown children and a grandmother to 10 (three girls and seven boys). My grandchildren call me “Mimi.”
  • My family created college legacies at two colleges in Pennsylvania when my youngest son followed in my footsteps at two of my alma maters.
  • I am a professional life coach and mentor to both undergraduate and graduate students.
  • I am an author, actor, singer and entertainer. I have acted in two indie films and performed for two years at NC State’s Stewart Theatre and one year at the North Carolina Museum of Art with the Justice Theater Project.
  • I am the co-founder and immediate past chair of University Advancement’s Task Force for Inclusion, Diversity and Equity committee. I am the 2022-24 chair of NC State’s African American Faculty and Staff Organization and 2022-24 EHRA representative on the NC State Council on the Status of Women.
