UHR Adds New Features to PAWS and Say Thanks E-card

Mr Wuf

University Human Resources has added some new features to the e-card that it uses for its PAWS and Say Thanks peer-to-peer recognition program

Now you can send an electronic PAWS and Say Thanks card to up to six people at once. This new feature allows employees to thank work groups and informal teams for a job well done. When UHR launched PAWS and Say Thanks, the program only offered the option to send a card to one person at a time.

Also, the program originally only offered one card template to send to recipients. Four card templates are now available to select from, including the original one.

“I think the changes to PAWS and Say Thanks make the program more exciting,” said Ellen Coster, an HR Continuous Improvement consultant. “The more we advertise the program and make sure people are aware of it, the more they use it.”

Last year, UHR asked employees who have sent or received cards through the program to provide feedback about it via a survey. After receiving survey feedback from 236 people, UHR acted on that feedback by implementing the new features.

“I hope everyone who made a suggestion feels special and knows UHR values their opinion,” Coster said. “They took the time to do the survey, and we actually considered their feedback.”

Since the PAWS and Say Thanks program launched in 2021, employees have used it to send about 1,200 electronic cards. UHR hopes employees find the form more user-friendly as a result of the new features and will thus be even more apt to use the program. Please use the PAWS and Say Thanks form to send a card using the new features. Consider sending a card to colleagues to thank them for their hard work this academic year.

“I think we may make more improvements to the PAWS and Say Thanks program over time,” Coster said. “We will gather feedback in the future to see what people think about the current changes and consider other ways to improve the program.”
