I’m a competitive swimmer. I had four top-10 times in the world in my age group in 2021. I have a total of 22 national top-10 times and currently hold 15 North Carolina state records in my age group.
I ride my bike pretty much everywhere. At age 57, I joined my son and his wife for part of their cross-country bike ride, pedaling 500 miles in six days, from Columbus, Ohio, to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
I love a good adventure. At 55, I hiked with my sons to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro (19,341 feet) in Tanzania. The air was mighty thin up there — all that swimming helped!
I think NC State has so much to offer, but one of my absolute favorite places to be is the Craft Center, where I spend endless hours designing and making fused-glass and stained-glass creations.
