Eligible Employees Can Get Free Flu Shots at Student Health Clinics

Flu Shots

University Human Resources and Student Health Services have partnered to offer free flu shots to eligible NC State employees at pop-up clinics across campus.

The clinics will be available between Sept. 29 and Dec. 7. Students also can get shots at the clinics.

You won’t need to schedule an appointment to get a shot at one of the clinics. You should upload your insurance card to the HealthyPack Portal before you visit a clinic, or you will be instructed to do so after receiving your vaccine.

Student Health accepts the following insurance plans: Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Aetna, Student Blue, Tricare and United Healthcare. Student Health will assess a $25 charge to the accounts of employees and students who use insurance plans other than those listed above.

Student Health is offering flu shots in its pharmacy by appointment only. Employees are welcome to get a flu shot at the pharmacy. Appointments are available:

  • 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 1:30-4 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
  • 9:30-11:30 a.m. and 1:30-4 p.m. on Tuesdays.

You can make an appointment for a flu shot at the Student Health pharmacy by visiting the HealthyPack Portal or calling Student Health at 919-515-2563. You should upload a copy of your insurance card to the portal before your visit, or you will be instructed to do so after receiving your vaccine.

If you have been displaying COVID-19 symptoms or have not been feeling well leading up to or on the day of your appointment, or if you have tested positive for COVID-19 in the two weeks prior to your appointment, you should reschedule your flu shot appointment for a later date.

UHR plans to offer additional clinics for employees to get flu shots. CVS Caremark will operate those clinics. The times, dates and locations for the UHR-organized clinics aren’t available yet. When that information is ready to be announced, UHR will post it on its flu shot webpage.

All members of the State Health Plan, their covered dependents age 18 or older and retired State Health Plan members younger than 65 are eligible to receive a free flu shot at a UHR-organized clinic.
