Eat Smart, Move More, Prevent Diabetes

A 12-month diabetes prevention program will be held at NC State, starting Oct. 7.

Eat Smart, Move More, Prevent Diabetes is a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention-recognized program that uses proven strategies to help participants prevent or delay the onset of Type 2 diabetes. NC State partnered with the North Carolina Division of Public Health to create the program.

“One of the things we really like to emphasize is that we are not promoting a diet,” said Casey Collins, coordinator of NC State’s Diabetes Prevention Program. “We are promoting healthy behaviors and lifestyle changes that are all proven strategies based on evidence and will help you lose weight and generally feel better.”
