- I was a drum major in the UNC-Chapel Hill marching band.I played tuba in the NC State symphonic band last fall.
- I have run two marathons: New York City and the Outer Banks.
- I am fluent in sign language. My younger brother is deaf.
- I have identical twin 9-year-old sons.
- I have worked in education for 18 years: four in secondary education and 14 in higher education. I subbed at my kids’ elementary school in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic. I love school.
