Howl About You

Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost
- I am originally from a small town in rural Australia. I came to the U.S. as an international graduate student in 1983 and never left. I started out in veterinary medicine.
- I’m a little bit of a food show geek, so I watch everything from the television show Great British Baking Show to the documentary series Taco Chronicles. I particularly love international food shows, especially ones that look at how food fits into an ethnic and cultural context.
- I love dogs. For most of the last 30 years, my wife and I have owned springer spaniels. We recently got a couple more dogs, but this time we got Great Danes. They’re great dogs, they’re smart, and they’re very loving and athletic.
- When I travel, I like to buy ties that support local or Indigenous art, so occasionally I’ll bring a tie back from Australia, for example, that is Aboriginal or depicts Aboriginal art. I’ll also buy other unique Australian items when I’m back in Australia.
- I’ve visited Europe several times, South Korea, a small portion of Northwestern Africa and England. I’d love to travel more extensively in Africa, South America, Asia and South Korea. The Office of Global Engagement is an important part of who we are at NC State, and I would like to support the office more in my travels.
