Retirement Workshop Set for March 16

University Human Resources will host a virtual Ready to Retire workshop via Zoom from 1 to 5 p.m. March 16.

Ready to Retire prepares NC State employees for the retirement process. All employees are welcome to attend Ready to Retire, but employees who are thinking about retiring in the next five to seven years are strongly encouraged to attend.

If you have specific questions related to retirement, you can pose those questions to retirement experts before the start of the workshop. From noon to 1 p.m., those experts will be available via Zoom in virtual breakout rooms. You’ll receive instructions on how to access the breakout rooms when you register for the workshop.

To register to attend the workshop, visit the Ready to Retire webpage. The workshop is limited to the first 300 employees to register. Videos of workshop sessions from last year, and other retirement planning resources are also available on our webpage.

Representatives from TIAA, Fidelity and Prudential will present retirement savings strategies and other retirement-related advice during the workshop. Sessions on the following topics also will be offered:

  • Retiree health insurance options.
  • The Teachers’ and State Employees’ Retirement System.
  • The University of North Carolina Optional Retirement Program.

Attendees will have opportunities to ask questions after each workshop session and before the workshop ends. The benefits team will follow up with participants whose questions are not answered.
