Register for LEAD Classes and Learning Events

LEAD

Learning and Organizational Development is excited to announce registration is open for its fall lineup of classes. In addition, L&OD will continue to offer most of its classes for free through the end of 2021.

Those classes are part of a year-round professional development program L&OD calls Leadership, Education and Development. LEAD offers courses that are designed to help employees achieve their career goals and unlock their true leadership potential. Through LEAD, employees can earn certificates, participate in monthly challenges and more.

The classes offered this fall will be available via a virtual format. Future classes will also be offered virtually, now that L&OD has decided to make virtual courses a permanent part of its course delivery method.

Employees are encouraged to take advantage of the free classes and other initiatives L&OD will offer under LEAD. Here’s how:

Register for LEAD classes and Learning Events

LEAD’s classes are categorized into several focus areas, including “Collaboration,” “Communication,” “Engagement and Accountability,” “Management and Supervision” and “Productivity.”

Dozens of classes are available, such as “Develop a Strategic Plan in One Day,” “Unlocking Your Employees’ Potential” and “Collaborating Across Generations.”

LEAD also offers Learning Events, where you can learn a skill or refresh your ability to execute a skill. Participants discuss common workplace issues, explore ideas and best practices and brainstorm solutions for problems in an open, informal learning environment.

Consider registering for courses and Learning Events that align with your career goals.

Earn a LEAD Certificate

In addition to taking individual courses, earning LEAD certificates is a great way to jump-start your ambitions and receive formal recognition for completing LEAD classes. Each certificate is self-directed, so participants can work around their schedules to complete class requirements and become LEAD certified. Two LEAD certificate programs are currently available to all NC State employees for the 2021 fall semester: LEAD Foundations and LEAD Advance.

Compete in LEAD Monthly Challenges

LEAD Monthly Challenges are a great way for LEAD participants to stay engaged with course content and earn rewards in the process. Each month, L&OD posts new challenges to the LEAD website, and eligible participants compete for a chance to be entered into a monthly drawing. If you complete a challenge, your name will end up on a leaderboard for that month. Be sure to check out the latest September challenges.
