Two Programs, One Goal

Grow Your Career at NC State

An elevated, wide shot shows a busy, modern open-plan office where multiple employees are working diligently at their cubicle desks. In the foreground, a woman with curly hair and glasses focuses on her computer screen, while a man to her right works at his monitor. Other colleagues are visible working at desks in rows behind them under bright, professional lighting.
Registration is now open for the free QuickStart program and the next Administrative Professionals Program cohort. Designed to help employees sharpen skills, build confidence and connect with peers, these tracks provide vital tools for success at NC State.

NC State offers two professional development programs designed to meet you where you are and help you get where you want to go.

QuickStart Program

New to NC State or stepping into a role with greater administrative responsibilities? This free certificate program connects employees with subject-matter experts from more than 30 departments across the university, giving participants a practical foundation of the university’s core administrative, financial and operational functions. The program runs over one semester, with four modules completed virtually via Zoom. Each module spans two half-days, so it’s easy to fit into your schedule.

How To Register

  1. Register for QuickStart via REPORTER.
  2. Select the dates for all four QuickStart modules and complete the registration process.

Administrative Professionals Program

If you’re an administrative professional looking to grow in your role, build new skills and connect with peers across the university, the Administrative Professionals Program (APP) could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.

Registration is now open for the upcoming APP cohort, which runs Sept. 10-April 27. This skills-based program prepares participants for success in a wide range of administrative roles, including executive assistant, office manager and administrative assistant. Participants meet once a month via Zoom making it accessible and convenient for busy professionals. Strengthen your understanding of office operations, professional communication and technology while gaining insights into industry best practices and connecting with fellow NC State administrative professionals.

You’ll also have the opportunity to earn the Professional Administrative Certification of Excellence, a nationally recognized credential that can strengthen your professional profile — and receive continuing education units upon completion.

Cost

The program fee is $880. Many units, departments, colleges and divisions cover this as a professional development expense, so it’s worth having that conversation with your manager. Need help making the case? Check out these tips.

How To Register

Space is limited, so register for the APP via REPORTER to secure your spot today.
