HR Wellness offers two free wellness programs for NC State employees: Employee Wellness and Fitness Classes, a series of in-person workout classes, and Flourish Fridays, an initiative that offers virtual wellness activities.
More information about the programs, including when classes are available, is below. Both programs will offer a class Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026, a university-designated wellness day.

Employee Wellness and Fitness Classes
Employee Wellness and Fitness Classes are a collaboration between HR Wellness and the Wellness and Recreation Center. Employees can take a variety of fitness classes, including yoga, cardio dance and strength training, for free. The classes are available at the center. Class times and days vary.
The class schedule is available on the Wellness and Recreation Center website. Registration for each class will open four weeks before the class date. To participate in a class, you must register on the website.
If you are not a Wellness and Recreation member, bring your employee ID to the Wellness and Recreation Center on the day you plan to attend a class.
Flourish Fridays
Flourish Fridays will take place once or twice a month on Fridays.
To participate in these instructor-led, free virtual activities, you must complete this registration form and waiver. Registrants will receive a link that will give them access to the sessions. The activities available through April 2026 are below.
Stretch Break
Friday, Jan. 23, 12:05-12:25 p.m.
Tuesday, Feb. 17, 12:05-12:25 p.m.
Take a 20-minute break to stretch and recharge. You’ll need space to stand and stretch.
Mindfulness
Friday, Feb. 20, 12:05-12:25 p.m.
Focus on relaxation while you participate in a guided mindfulness exercise. Mindfulness breaks may include visualization, deep breathing and progressive muscle relaxation. You’ll need a space to sit comfortably.
Laughter and Fun
Friday, March 13, 10-10:30 a.m.
Take time to laugh and play fun games in a virtual setting. To participate, you’ll need to have your computer’s camera and microphone on.
Chair Pilates
Friday, April 17, 12:05-12:25 p.m.
Take time to recharge wherever you are by participating in a chair Pilates session. You’ll need a stable chair to sit on and stand beside to participate.
