Register for BEAM and QPR Classes

At NC State, supporting our university community’s mental health and well-being is a shared responsibility. To equip faculty and staff with practical tools to assist students and colleagues in distress, Prevention Services is offering two essential training programs: Boundaries With Empathy and Awareness of Mental Health  (BEAM) and Question, Persuade and Refer (QPR).

BEAM Training

BEAM training is designed for campus professionals looking to enhance their communication skills and foster a supportive environment for students navigating challenges. Three training sessions will be available during the fall semester in Room 2301 at the Campus Health Center. Visit REPORTER to register for one of the following sessions.

  • Sept. 2, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Oct. 7, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Nov. 10, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

QPR Training

QPR is an evidence-based suicide prevention training focused on teaching participants how to recognize the warning signs of a mental health crisis, offer hope and refer individuals to appropriate university and community resources. Visit REPORTER to register for one of the following sessions.

  • Sept. 23, noon to 2 p.m. via Zoom
  • Oct. 28, noon to 2 p.m. in Room 2301 at the Campus Health Center
  • Nov. 10, 2 to 4 p.m. via Zoom
