Child Care Benefit: NC State Renews KinderCare Partnership

University Human Resources is thrilled to announce that NC State has renewed its contract with KinderCare, the provider of the university’s child care tuition subsidy program, for an additional two years.

This extension ensures that eligible employees will continue to have access to affordable, high-quality early childhood education through Feb. 28, 2028.

  • KinderCare subsidies: NC State employees whose children attend a KinderCare facility may be eligible to receive a subsidy to apply toward tuition. Eligible employees whose household income is greater than or equal to $70,000 annually receive an 11% subsidy. Eligible employees whose household income is less than $70,000 annually receive a 35% subsidy.
  • Program eligibility: The subsidy program is open to full-time faculty and staff members who classify as SHRA or EPS employees and to postdocs. Those employees, including postdocs, must work at least 30 hours per week for nine or more months per year on a recurring basis to participate in the program.

How To Apply for a Subsidy

If you are interested in applying for a subsidy, review the article in HRNow about the subsidy program, which has the program’s eligibility requirements, directions to submit the subsidy application and information about taxation laws that may apply to you.

Additional Child Care Center Partnerships

NC State also has relationships with more than 20 other child centers in the Triangle area, including Chesterbrook Academy, Lightbridge Academy and The Goddard School. The centers offer discounts, waived registration fees and deposits or priority enrollment to NC State employees and students.

New for 2026: Summer Camp Resources

UHR recently added a list of Triangle-area camps to its website to help parents plan ahead when school is out. The list has camps offered during the summer, on teacher workdays and during in-school year breaks.
