HR Wellness To Launch 2 Free Wellness Programs in August
HR Wellness will launch two free wellness programs for employees in August: Employee Wellness Wednesdays is a series of in-person fitness classes, and Flourish Fridays is a series of wellness activities employees can participate in virtually.
Employee Wellness Wednesdays
Employee Wellness Wednesdays is a collaboration between HR Wellness and the Wellness and Recreation Center. Employees will be able to take a variety of fitness classes, including yoga, cardio dance and strength training. The classes will be available at the center. Class times will vary.
All of the classes that will be available in 2024 are on the Wellness and Recreation Center website. To participate in a class, you must register on the site, and if you are not a Wellness and Recreation member, bring your employee ID to the Wellness and Recreation Center on the day you plan to attend a class.
Registration for each class will open four weeks before the class date. Registration for the first class, which will be Aug. 21 from 7 to 7:45 a.m., is available.
All classes will be on Wednesdays except for a class that will be on Tuesday, Sept. 17, an NC State-designated wellness day.
Organizers plan to announce the 2025 class schedule in November 2024 or January 2025.
Flourish Fridays
Flourish Fridays will take place once a month on Fridays. To participate in the instructor-led virtual activities, you must complete this registration form and waiver. Registrants will receive a link that will give them access to the sessions. The list of activities available through November is below. HR Wellness plans to announce the 2025 schedule for Flourish Fridays in November 2024 or January 2025.
Stretch Break
Friday, Aug. 16, 11-11:20 a.m.
Take a 20-minute break to stretch and recharge. You’ll need space to stand and stretch.
Mindfulness
Friday, Sept. 20, 11-11:20 a.m.
Focus on relaxation while you participate in a guided mindfulness exercise. Mindfulness breaks may include visualization, deep breathing and progressive muscle relaxation. You’ll need a space to sit comfortably.
Laughter and Fun
Friday, Oct. 18, 11-11:30 a.m.
Take time to laugh and play fun games in a virtual setting. To participate, you will need to have your computer’s camera and microphone on.
Chair Pilates
Friday, Nov. 15, 11-11:20 a.m.
Take time to recharge wherever you are by participating in a chair Pilates session. You’ll need a stable chair to sit on and stand beside to participate.
