Book Club

Join Learning and Organizational Development for Summer Reads, a virtual book club for NC State staff and faculty. The book club will meet via Zoom on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, June 28, from noon to 1 p.m. to discuss Dare to Lead by BrenĂ© Brown. Dare to Lead dispels common myths about modern-day workplace culture and shows us that true leadership requires vulnerability, values, trust and resilience.
  • Friday, July 28, from 10 to 11 a.m. to talk about Disability Visibility by Alice Wong. Disability Visibility gives a glimpse into the rich complexity of the disabled experience, highlighting the passions, talents and everyday lives of people in this community.
  • Thursday, Aug. 31, from 11 a.m. to noon to dive into The Art of Saying No by Damon Zahariades. The Art of Saying No is a step-by-step, strategic guide for setting boundaries and developing the assertiveness you need to maintain them.

Please register to participate in one or all of the book club meetings. The first five people to register for each meeting will receive a free copy of the book participants will discuss during that meeting.
