This photo of me is from an NC State OIT Cybersecurity Awareness event, “Be a Cybersecurity Hero.” I dressed up like this so students and other attendees could take selfies with me and share them on social media. I spent most of my childhood and teen years acting, so I’ll always have an entertainer in me.
In my real life, I’m an award-winning songwriter; a killer at karaoke; a multifaceted percussionist; a comedic actor; and a classically trained pianist taught by Juilliard-educated notable Noel Tipton. I’ve been in several rock bands and toured Europe with my hometown church choir.
My favorite memories include hot-air ballooning over Gruyères Castle, jumping out of a perfectly good airplane and paragliding off the top of a perfectly good Swiss Alp named Planplatten.
Before working at NC State, I worked as a senior technical writer for various companies, including AT&T, Bell Laboratories and Lockheed Martin.
In addition to working either as a direct employee or through a consulting firm, I‘ve owned my own companies: a sub-S corporation and an LLC.
