Healthy Campus Week is a nationally observed initiative led by the American College Health Association. Since 2014, NC State has been recognized as a Healthy Campus Partner, and we are excited to again offer a week of health and wellness activities.

NC State empowers the Wolfpack to thrive through numerous programs and services on campus, with a focus on the six elements of wellness to provide a holistic blueprint. In an effort to highlight the many resources available, partners will be hosting a variety of events from September 26 – 30.

“I hope students will gain a moment to look up, out and around from the hustle and bustle of the semester,” says Alexis Steptoe, assistant director of ThriveWell with Wellness and Recreation. “To engage in something that brings them a little joy, more knowledge about a service or resource that would help them, or just a moment to connect with themselves and others in the Wolfpack.”

Each day throughout the week is themed to focus on different components of wellness: Movement Monday, Talk it out Tuesday, Wellness Wednesday, Treat Yourself Thursday and Feel Good Friday. While all events throughout the week are free to attend, several activities require advance registration in order to participate.

State of Wellness

  • This event has been postponed – please visit the Wolfpack Wellness website for updates.

Join campus partners as they discuss challenges and brainstorm ways we can better serve the Wolfpack community. A panel comprised of staff from Campus Community Centers, Campus Health, NC State Dining, Pack Essentials, Prevention Services and Wellness and Recreation will share resources available to students and answer questions to help connect them with different services on campus. This is designed to be an open forum for a campus wide dialogue. Advance registration is required for this event.

Fresh Check Day

Fresh Check Day® is an uplifting mental health fair that was established by the Jordan Porco Foundation to create approachable and hopeful ways to engage with resources that support your emotional wellbeing. Hosted by Prevention Services, this free event includes interactive booths, free food, music and exciting giveaways.

Emily Anderson, outreach and resilience coordinator for the Office of Prevention Services, hopes “students will use this opportunity to learn about resources, practice some self-care and enjoy spending time with our campus community. We really hope it will emphasize that all elements of wellness contribute to mental health.”
