NC State Enhances Child Care Program

Child Care

University Human Resources wants to remind employees about the enhancements that have been made to the university’s child care services program.

NC State has added two providers to the program: Goddard School for Early Childhood Development and RightTime KiDS Drop-in Childcare in Raleigh. A third provider, Bright Horizons, has added its nine facilities in the Triangle area to the program.

“It really speaks to NC State’s commitment to work-life balance, to families and to our employees to be able to offer an expanded resource like this,” said Britt Hurst, Employee Recognition and Wellness Program manager. “We hope by continuing to enhance our child care service offerings for faculty and staff, we are alleviating some of the burden our parents face when searching for care.”

A complete list of child care centers that participate in NC State’s program can be found on the child care resources website. The centers offer discounted tuition rates to NC State employees. The centers’ rates are subject to availability and can change at the discretion of the providers.

Here is more information on the program’s new participants:

Bright Horizons’ Nine Additional Facilities

The addition of the nine centers increased the number of child care slots available at Bright Horizons facilities for NC State employees from 34 to approximately 100. More than 40 slots are still available.

The benefits website has a flyer that includes a map showing the locations of the nine added facilities and presents more information about them.

NC State families should contact the Bright Horizons child care center of their choice to inquire about the center’s tuition rates.

Goddard School for Early Childhood Development

The Ridge Road school is a short distance from NC State, making it a convenient child care option for employees.

The university is working with Goddard to add more slots at the school for NC State employees. The 17 slots made available when Goddard joined the program have been filled.

As spaces become available, NC State will pay the registration fee and deposit for spaces filled by an employee’s child.

Goddard is offering NC State employees a 5% discount on tuition.

Families should contact Goddard to learn more about tuition rates and when child care slots will be available.

RightTime KiDS Drop-in Childcare

RightTime is an option for parents who have short-term, urgent, after-hours and last-minute child care needs.

The facilities on Oberlin and Durant roads are participating in the NC State child care program.

The centers are open into the evening on weekdays. They stay open late on Friday and Saturday nights.

The RightTime standard rate for child care is $12 an hour. The rate for NC State employees is $8 an hour. That rate also is available to NC State students.

Employees and students must show their NC State identification to receive the discounted rate.
